OPTOMETRY

Refractive Surgery

For some, glasses and contacts are no longer the right path for their visual treatment. If this is the case, after a comprehensive eye examination, Dr Vo will perform a consultation to determine if refractive surgery is an option for you. This goes far beyond just checking a prescription and sending the patient off to a surgical center. The consultation includes testing to determine candidacy, an open discussion of the risks, benefits, and options of refractive surgery that would be best suited for the patient's lifestyle and visual requirements. Dr Vo then provides pre and postoperative care for patients who do decide to undergo surgery. Surgery is a great option for visual correction if it is the right choice for you.

LASIK

Laser-Associated In Situ Keratomileusis

Laser treatment that forms a flap on the cornea to gain access to the tissues layers underneath the surface. This is where the laser modification occurs to correct a patient's vision.

PRK

Photorefractive Keratectomy

Laser treatment that directly modifies the front surface of the cornea to correct a patient's vision.

SMILE

Small Incision Lenticule Extraction

Laser treatment that leaves the anterior surface of the cornea untouched, modifing only the inner layers of the cornea and using a small incision to extract the modified tissue.

REFRACTIVE LENS RELATED SURGERIES

RLE / ICL

Surgical procedures that correct a patient's vision by replacing  the natural lens with an implant (RLE - Refractive lens Exchange) or implantation of a lens in front of the natural lens (ICL - Intraocular Collamer lens).
